Rendering of New Plaza on 131st & Miles

The Next Housing Task Force meeting is Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 5pm at UMDC (Meetings held Final Wednesday of Every Month: 10/29, 11/26) “To date the Union Miles Housing Task Force has cataloged over 700 properties, their owners and the conditions. We have successfully gotten 14 properties demolished and over 180 boarded up. We have forwarded the information to the City of Cleveland’s Building & Housing as well as sent letters to the owners of recorded, according to the county auditor’s office. The Union Miles Housing Task Force is also focusing on salvage yards and addressing mortgage companies that own large numbers of abandon homes. The Union Miles Housing Task Force has some really great partners, the City of Cleveland’s Building & Housing Department, Councilman Robert White, 4th District Police Department and the Union Miles Development Corporation, East Side Organizing Project and Cuyahoga County via their 2-1-1 program.”
